Mark J. Hetz

Mark Hetz is an advisor at StarBridge Advisors, LLC. Mark has over 30 years of experience in health information technology leadership. Most recently Mark was the Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer at Asante Health System in southern Oregon. In addition to information technology, Mark had responsibility for Health Information Management and most support services functions. He oversaw a $114M construction project and was a leader in business strategy development.

Prior to his 24-year tenure at Asante, Mark served as the Director of Systems Development at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane and as a Senior Manager at First Consulting Group.

Throughout his career, Mark has been the creator and implementer of innovative solutions, from patient concierge services to developing and growing a physician portal into an independent and financially sustainable, state-wide health information exchange. His strong history of initiating, negotiating, and sustaining collaborative endeavors with diverse, and often competing, stakeholders has made him a trusted adviser and executive mentor within organizations and across the industry.

In addition to his decades-long participation in HIMSS and CHIME, Mark has served in the following capacities:

• Founding Board Member and Officer of Reliance eHealth Collaborative, a state-wide health information exchange
• Founding Board Member of HIT Commons, a public/private corporation established to promote and manage state-wide health information technology initiatives
• Board Member of Apprise Health Insights, the for-profit subsidiary of the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems providing data analytics services

Mark’s holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkley and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and History from Claremont McKenna College, Claremont, California.
