David Miller is an Advisor at StarBridge Advisors, LLC. David is a nationally recognized health care information technology leader with more than 45 years of experience in the industry. He previously served as CIO for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and as Executive Director of information systems for the University of Chicago Medical Center. He served in leadership roles with several international and national firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Capgemini and Ernst and Young.

David’s recent engagements have included two interim CIO roles in the Middle East. He first spent six months in Bahrain, leading the development of the technology platform for a new hospital. Then he served in the United Arab Emirates, leading a healthcare organization through the simultaneous replacement of their EMR and ERP systems and realignment of their technology operations.

David is a past president of the Greater Illinois HIMSS Chapter Board and has previously served as chair of the HIE Council for the Arkansas Office of Health Information Technology, as chair of the American Association of Medical College’s Group on Information Resources, as President and HIE Chair of the Arkansas HIMSS Chapter, as well as other technology council memberships nationally.

He is a frequent presenter, speaker and blogger for multiple healthcare organizations nationwide.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL, and a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. He is a Fellow with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) and a Certified Digital Health Executive (CDH-E) with the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
